What Constitutes a Good Practitioner?
Q: What constitutes a good practitioner?
A: It is determined by motivation—whether one truly seeks liberation.
A genuine practitioner does not practice for success or happiness in this life, nor to avoid sickness, aging, or discomfort. They understand birth, sickness, aging, and death are an inevitable part of life in cyclic existence. Such is the natural law of samsara.
Instead, they let go of attachment to this life and practice to attain liberation—the immortal state—or at least to gain a higher rebirth, such as in a pure realm.
