Cherishing the Organisers
It is rare to get the opportunity to receive the dharma. And those who organise the dharma teachings and events, etc., take on a lot of work and responsibility to provide the opportunities. So I would advise those of you who attend these teachings and programmes to do your best to support the organisers. And if you can't do that, at least don't make their life harder by complaining and that sort of thing.
You may think, 'I only made one small complaint,' but if a hundred people attend and one in ten makes a small complaint or a special request, that is ten complaints or special requests that the organiser needs to address and carry with them, on top of the burden they are already carrying.
The organiser is probably not a bodhisattva who accepts every criticism with glee. Too many complaints and the organiser will likely become discouraged. They may think twice before planning the next event. It would be you who will lose out if they decide not to continue taking this on. Your already limited opportunities to receive the dharma will become even fewer.
So I encourage you to offer your support and gratitude to the organisers. This would be better for everyone.
