In the Greater Scheme of Things
Foremost on a dharma practitioner’s mind is liberation, ultimate freedom. They don’t give much thought to how they feel in the moment, whether they feel happy or sad, etc. This is the opposite of worldly people, whose only thought is feeling pleasure and happiness and avoiding pain and discomfort.
Practitioners do not pursue fleeting pleasures or push away discomfort because they see that in the greater scheme of things, such feelings are of little lasting significance.
