A New Sun has Risen over Africa
A few days ago, 23rd March, marked an auspicious and significant occasion as we commemorated the anniversary of our Teacher, the benevolent Buddha Shakyamuni, imparting the teachings of the Wheel of Time (Kālacakra), the king of tantras.
It was also a special day since in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa, forty youths went forth, shaving their heads and donning the Buddha's saffron robes.
As it was taught:
If the world cannot contain the merit
Of a single moment of one gone forth,
What then of years and months and days,
Of moral discipline upheld correctly.
Were the Victorious One to elucidate
The merit of keeping moral discipline
A single aeon would fail to suffice.
Such merit equals the endless breadth of space
How could a normal being know its limits?
I pray that through the excellent merit accrued as shown, the Buddha Dharma, the source of benefit and bliss, flourishes and remains within the world. May the exalted beings who uphold it, live long with activity that extends throughout the ten directions. May the Sangha communities devote themselves solely to the spheres of practice and study while maintaining harmony and pure discipline. May our dear mother sentient beings enjoy the splendour of an ocean of bliss and joy.
In particular, I pray for the Sangha members who go forth today to fulfil a lifetime dedicated to the Dharma. Through this, may the sun of Dharma shine brightly on the continent of Africa and an abundance of flowers of bliss and happiness blossom, filling the land with the fragrance of spiritual and temporal well-being.

ཨ་ཧྥེ་རི་ཀ་ལ་ཉི་མ་གསར་པ་ཞིག་ཤར་བྱུང་།
ཉིན་འགའི་སྔོན་བཀྲ་ཤིས་པའི་དུས་བཟང་བདག་ཅག་གི་སྟོན་པ་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཅན་ཤཱཀྱའི་ཏོག་གིས་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་དཔལ་དུས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་གསུངས་པའི་དུས་ཆེན་དང་། གླིང་ཆེན་ཨ་ཧྥེ་རི་ཀ་ཀོང་གྷོ་མང་གཙོ་སྤྱི་མཐུན་རྒྱལ་ཁབ་ནང་དུ། དུས་གཅིག་ལ་གཞོན་ནུ་བཞི་བཅུ་ཙམ་ཞིག་སྐྲ་བྲེགས་ཤིང་གོས་ངུར་སྨྲིག་བགོས་ཏེ་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བའི་དུས་བཟང་དམིགས་བསལ་བ་ཞིག་ཀྱང་ཡིན།
དེ་ཡང་ཇི་སྐད་དུ། སྐད་ཅིག་རབ་བྱུང་བསོད་ནམས་ཚོགས། །ས་ཆེན་འདིར་ཡང་མི་ཤོང་ན། །ལོ་ཟླ་ཞག་གི་ཕྲེང་བ་རུ། །ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ལེགས་སྲུང་སྨོས་ཅི་དགོས། །ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་སྲུང་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་གང་། །རྒྱལ་བས་བསྐལ་པར་བརྗོད་མི་འཛད། །བསོད་ནམས་མཁའ་མཉམ་ཚད་མེད་པ། །སོ་སྐྱེས་དེའི་མཐའ་ག་ལ་ཤེས། །
ཞེས་གསུངས་པ་བཞིན་རྣམ་པར་དཀར་བའི་དགེ་ཚོགས་འདི་ཡིས་ཕན་བདེའི་འབྱུང་གནས་རྒྱལ་བའི་བསྟན་པ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་དར་ཞིང་རྒྱས་ལ་ཡུན་རིང་དུ་གནས་པ་དང་། དེ་འཛིན་གྱི་སྐྱེས་བུ་དམ་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྐུ་ཚེ་བརྟན་ཞིང་མཛད་འཕྲིན་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་རྒྱས་པ་དང་། དགེ་འདུན་པའི་སྡེ་རྣམས་ཐུགས་མཐུན་ཁྲིམས་གཙང་གི་སྒོ་ནས་སྤོང་ཀློག་གི་གནས་ལ་གཅིག་ཏུ་བརྩོན་ཞིང་། མ་རྣམས་བདེ་དགའ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་དཔལ་ལ་ཡོངས་སུ་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ཐུབ་པ་དང་། ཁྱད་པར་དུ་དེ་རིང་རབ་ཏུ་བྱུང་བའི་དགེ་འདུན་པ་འདི་དག་གི་ཚེ་ཆོས་མཐའ་རུ་ཕྱིན་ནས། གླིང་ཆེན་ཨ་ཧྥེ་རི་ཀའི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཉི་མ་རབ་ཏུ་ཤར་ཞིང་། བདེ་སྐྱིད་ཀྱི་མེ་ཏོག་ཅི་ཡང་བཞད་ནས་ཕན་བདེའི་དྲི་བསུང་ཀུན་ཏུ་འཐུལ་བའི་སྨོན་འདུན་དང་བཅས།
