Schedule 2019

In 2015 Drupon Khen Rinpoche decided to travel for no more than three months each year and to spend most of his time in Thrangu Sekhar Retreat Center, Nepal. Drupon Rinpoche feels he is better able to serve the buddhadharma and sentient beings by dedicating most of his time to the development of a single group of full-time students, with the hope that they come to fully embody the teachings and maintain the lineage.

6-13 OctoberKagyu Samye Ling, ScotlandAnnual One-Week Meditation Retreat conjoined with the commemoration of the 6th Anniversary of the passing of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche.

In this meditation retreat, there will also be a change in the format of the meditation sessions – Drupon Rinpoche will guide the retreatants in an exploration of mind and thoughts by posing questions and highlighting possible issues with some of the answers people often assume to be correct.

This year, for the first time, Rinpoche will provide a rare opportunity to experience the unique, traditional means of teaching authentic Buddhist meditation – by the master asking the disciples questions and thus letting them come to find the truth of real meditation for themselves.

The emphasis will be on developing an understanding of what meditation really is, rather than on learning different methods.

This revised format will be especially insightful for those who are slightly more experienced in meditation, and helpful for anyone who is genuinely interested in developing an authentic and effective meditation practice.
