The Excellent Beginning for Those Chosen for Trial from Africa
Today (31st March 2018) Those Chosen for Trial from Africa* went into the holy presence of the lord of refuge and highest teacher Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, who is the crown ornament of every scholar of Tibet, the lord of all vinaya masters and the great elucidator of scripture and realisation. As an initial dharma connection Rinpoche bestowed upon them the reading transmission for The Short Vajradhara Prayer – the heart and quintessence of all Kagyu instructions. Together with many wonderful aspiration prayers, through the force of his level resolve, Rinpoche set the Ground in place for them to help further knowledge in the world and benefit every living being. Today, this day of being graced with such fortune, is their excellent beginning.
* The Five Chosen for Trial from Africa : During the time of Dharma King Trisong Detsen, seven Tibetans were given the opportunity to go forth as monastics to assess whether Tibetans were fit to uphold the precepts. They were given the name The Seven Chosen for Trial , and they went on to wonderful wonders and translators who helped many people through embodying and spreading the Buddhist teachings.
